This week on Dialogos Radio, the Dialogos Interview Series will feature two interviews that you will not want to miss. We will begin this week’s broadcast with part two of our interview with journalist Dimitris Yannopoulos, formerly the press adviser for Greece’s ex-finance minister Yanis Varoufakis. In part one of our interview, Yannopoulos revealed how Varoufakis’ decisions, contrary to his rhetoric, anchored Greece into continued economic austerity. This week in part two, Yannopoulos will analyze the current economic and political situation in Greece today, and the claims of the SYRIZA-led coalition government that Greece has “turned the corner” economically.
Following this, the Dialogos Interview Series will feature an interview with Maria Karamitsos, founder and editor of WindyCityGreek.com. She will share with us a fascinating account of the development of Chicago’s famous “Greektown” and the development of the Greek community in the Windy City, discuss WindyCity Greek and the concept behind this website, and also share an update with us regarding the recent visit of Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras to Chicago.

In our latest analysis for Mint Press News, titled Greece: A (Basket) Case Study In Savage Globalization, we examine how processes of savage globalization have resulted in a prevailing mentality of inferiority, hopelessness, self-loathing, and collective guilt in Greece.
As Greeks look inward, they see a country that produces nothing of value and is inferior to the rest of the world – despite evidence to the contrary. The country has been mentally colonized, with outside powers convincing the Greeks that they can do no better.
